Personality: Mina is pretty kept to herself, mostly because she doesn't really know how to talk to people. She has a hard time remembering small things, and sometimes larger things, but, somehow managed to remember the important things. She has a stutter, which, combined with her English accent, sometimes makes her impossible to understand. She's very smart, having graduated at 14, and being in college at 15, but, she's not street smart, not in anyway. And, at her age of twenty, has never had a boyfriend, nor a first kiss, or whatever, always having been too busy, either with school, or work, that, or people just found her too strange.

History: Mina's parents, after moving from Japan, where they were born, grew up, and lived in, moved to England, where Mina was born. She grew up a pretty happy child, quiet, but, happy. She was in a car accident with her parents. Although no one was servilely injured, Mina had the worst of it. She had hit her head, causing her memory to be affect, which was the only part of her brain affected, strangely enough.
Over the years, Mina excelled in school, starting high school when 11, graduating when 14, and getting into college at 15. After her years of college, she graduated from there, and went on to becoming a scientist, most of her research involving radiation, some of her experiments having been conduced on herself, her memory was screwed up more, and she was forced to label herself 'retired' before she was even 20. Her family sent her on a vacation to Australia, hoping it would help her mind be at ease, of course, it didn't. She spent most of the time working on complex scientific equations on the beach, and did a little bit of piano.
On the flight back, it began to fall, landing on the island. When it did, Mina was more than confused, but, at the same time, understood the island. She wasn't the 'leader' of the group, per say, but, was the unofficial second-in-command, because of her knowledge, a thing a lot of people weren't pleased with, because they think of Mina as a 'nutcase'.
Out Of Character
Your Name: I go by Maddie in the c-box, but Maddie or Mina work fine
Age: I'm fourteen years old right now (9th grade, btw)
Role Playing History: Four years now, I think, I can't remember. I've been writing for fun since the third grade.
Role Play Sample: From my PR site, it's kinda like a very very short story.
Kira plucked at a string of her guitar, looking around Hayley's Cyberspace Cafe for her friends, Conner, Ethan and Trent, and Dr. O, since he'd never missed one of her shows. She saw Ethan talking to one of his geek friends by a computer, but hearing the strumming, he turned around and smiled at her. She smiled back. Looking over at the counter she saw Dr. O talking to Hayley, well, flirting with her it seemed more like, but, from where she sat on the edge of the stage, she couldn't quite tell. She also spotted Trent making his rounds around the cafe, tray in hand. Although he never missed her shows, Kira was sure it was just because he was working when she had them.
But, that wasn't what bothered her. No, what was bothering Kira Ford was she couldn't find Conner anywhere in the Cafe. It was one of the three things he was never late for; Soccer, Ranger stuff, and her shows. Come to think of it, if her shows were all the way up there with soccer, which everyone knew he was huge about, and Ranger stuff, which he couldn't be late for, seeing as the fate of the world (Or at least Reefside) was in their hands, then, Conner must actually care about her. Even as a sister Kira could deal with it, since clearly he didn't know she liked him. Yes, Kira Ford, the 'Avril Wanna-Be', liked liked Conner McKnight, the soccer star, who had become her friend after that one fateful detention the three had shared the first day back to school that year.
Sighing, Kira stood up, clearing her through to get people's attention, someone. And, just as she did so, the doors opened, and in came said boy she'd just been thinking of. He smiled at her, out of breath, from where he stood, near the stage where she now stood, but not too close. Just close enough, Kira decided. "This next song is called, Just Close Enough, I hope you like it," Just close enough was good enough for her.
